Overview

Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell is a tough and washable water-based paint offering a mid-sheen finish on walls, ceilings, masonry and wood. The Anti-Fade Technology protects colour pigments from damage for a non-fading long-lasting finish. Providing ultimate durability, it protects against scrubs, scuffs and stains and has been formulated with a unique Stain Repellent Technology that prevents stains from penetrating the surface which makes cleaning easy, and offers a finish that withstands daily wear and tear and will look better for longer. It is also highly scrubbable, ideal for spaces that require frequent cleaning. Versatile, it can be used over surfaces previously decorated with solvent-based paints, after suitable preparation.

Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Dulux tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order.

Preparation

Surfaces must be sound, clean, dry and correctly prepared (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry)

Remove all loose and defective paint. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.

Where necessary, wash the surface to remove dirt, grease and powdery or dusty residues. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry.

Seal surfaces that remain powdery after thorough preparation with an appropriate plaster sealer.

Where necessary, rub down and then wipe off with a damp, lint free cloth to avoid dust.

Any surface defects should be filled with the appropriate Polycell Trade Polyfilla.

Application

To get the best results, ensure the surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, and dry. It is recommended to test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure compatibility and that you are happy with the finished results.

Stir thoroughly before use.

Surfaces should be mist coated with an appropriate Dulux Trade product: Dry Wall Primer Sealer on bare surfaces and Diamond Matt or Vinyl Matt as a thinned first coat on previously painted surfaces.

The normal finishing process is 2 full coats of Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell, however for significant colour change additional coats may be required. For best colour consistency, purchase sufficient tinted paint for each job at one time from the same source. To ensure colour consistency, it is recommended to blend tins before use.

To achieve the most durable and lower sheen finish on wood, we recommend using Dulux Trade Diamond Satinwood.

Airless Spray: For best results use a 517 Low pressure tip with an operating pressure of 1300 – 1700 psi. (89-117 bar). Alternatively, use a 517 tip with an operating pressure of 2000 – 2400 psi (138-165 bar). Please note that the above recommendations are intended as a guideline only and some adjustments may need to be made to accommodate equipment type & age, substrate type and individual site & atmospheric conditions.
